Tips for using a compound microscope mainly include the following steps:

Finding and placing the microscope: Hold the arm of the microscope with your right hand, hold the base with your left hand, and gently place the microscope in front of your body, slightly to the left, about 1 meter away. Make sure the microscope is facing the light source and placed on a flat table.

Aligning the light: Turn the converter to align the low-power objective lens with the bottom of the lens barrel. Adjust the reflector and observe through the eyepiece to ensure that the field of view is the brightest. Adjust the aperture to make the field of view bright and uniform.

Placing the slide: Place the slide specimen on the stage and fix it with a slide clamp to ensure that the specimen is in the center of the light hole.

Focusing:

Coarse focusing: Gently turn the coarse focusing screw to bring the objective lens close to the specimen, but do not touch it. Then slowly lower the lens barrel so that the objective lens gently touches the slide.
Fine focusing: Observe from the eyepiece, fine-tune the fine focusing screw, and slowly raise the lens barrel until the specimen appears clearly in the field of view. Observation and Recording: Observe with your left eye in the eyepiece and use your right eye for recording. Adjust the light and magnification as needed to observe the various parts of the specimen. Note that the movement direction is opposite to the direction seen in the eyepiece.

End of observation and arrangement:

Take out the specimen slide, making sure no residue is left.

Lift the tube and clean the exterior of the microscope with a special brush.

Turn the converter so that the objective lens extends forward and slowly lowers to the lowest position.

Put the reflector in an upright position and put the microscope back in place.

By mastering these steps and techniques, you can use a compound microscope for scientific observation and experiments like a professional. Remember to make sure you are familiar with the various parts and functions of the microscope before doing anything.
